day of the dead, sylvia ji makeup

so im doing an art project based on sylvia ji's day of the dead girls, and it required me to take my own photos in that style in order to paint.

here's my first attempt:

I'm trying to create emotions to the photos that coincide with the colours, so obviously this one was sadness.

there's still a few kinks i need to work out with the make up but for a first shoot and quite proud of these :), what dyou think?

i know iv been completely MIA for a while now.. alot of things have been happening over the last couple of months and iv also been really busy with college work and family, so this is just a couple of hauls, FOTDs etc. that ive been collecting over the past coupla months.

this was bought as a last resort whilst on holiday as i couldnt find any of my beloved silver shampoo :( but i am SO glad i did! this shampoo takes about 2 washes to see definite results but my hair feels softer, shinier and looks an all around brighter blonde colour.. i hate when my hair goes brassy, but sometimes silver shampoo can leave it feeling dry and brittle so this product is a life saver in between colours! i highly reccomend!

and lastly iv started a new blog.. no, im not giving up on this one! my new blogs more of a personal thing aside from beauty and makeup, a place to post my drawings & art, life stuff, random pictures i find and some of my tattoo designs/inspiration.. id really appreciate anyone taking a look at it ( and even maybe following? ;)) find it here

im seriously considering

jacking this all in, iv had so much neg feed back on youtube atm that i jus feel like why bother.. i only make videos to help people, its of no personal gain to me, yet everytime i log onto youtube recently i find messages off people criticising me and its not even constructive, its just hurtful. i just dont see why people feel the need to tell me stuff like this, and while i find it very difficult not replying and saying things back i know it wouldnt make me feel better and it would just take me down to their level. Ugh it makess ya feel kinda crappy.

so anyways i'm thinking of stopping youtube for a while, it takes guts to put videos up and this has completely knocked my confidence.

rant overrrr, il carry on with blogging as much as i can, this weeks pretty busy though - so many deadlines! cant wait to be off for christmass :)

what happens when i get bored..

i got extreemeeellyy bored today, and decided to do some makeupppp :)

also iv been messing around with photoshop recently, im trying to get better at it in time for my next photography project, i want to do some sort of fashion, indie style portraits.. in these ive just used filters and darkening at the edges in order to create a vintage kind of feel :)

also, i now currently have red glitter alll over my house since that second photo.. oops!

I was so unbelievably chuffed at what i was about to get, there were a couple of other things i wanted such as mutiny pigment and tahitian sand beauty powder, but i'l might get those at another time as im not sure id use them that much.. seriously though i was speechless when i got in there and saw how much mac they had, i bet the sales assistants thought i was mad watching me frantically rumage through the baskets!

just to kind of let you know whats going on atm :)

i have so much that i'm excited about!

im starting my new job tomorrow at a clothes shop, its taken a while to get everything sorted but i finally got my start date this weekend, and, although it means some very early starts (5.30am anyone?) the pay/perks are pretty good, so expect a few more haul posts in the future :) i know iv already started my wishlist. Also, i mentioned this in a post a while ago but, as im going to have money i think i'm probably going to start collecting and putting items into a competition prize, i have so many loyal followers and subscribers on here and on youtube you all deserve some sort of thanks! if you could comment below on what sort of things you'd like to see i'd reaally appreciate it.. i'l put up a more detailed post closer to the time i'm guessing :)

Im also starting a new fashion project in which im going to make dress and a pair of wings, im so looking forward to getting started iv been collecting tons of inspirational images; im mainly looking at the fall 08 runways as im really feeling the gothic vibe atm :) iv only done one sort of illustration so far, but it kind of gives an idea of what i want to create;

i got the MAC holiday eyes palette "smoke and mirrors" yesterday so expect a review, looks and swatches post within the next few days, can i just say though its extremeeelyy gorgeous, sometimes i find when i really look forward to buying things like this i can be dissapointed in the product when i finally get it.. this is not one of those timesss ;).

and lastlyyy, as treat tomorrow after work my mums taking me to a CCO (cosmetics company outlet) hello discounted MAC! :D
